Sash Window Restoration in Westcliffe, Preston

Westcliffe in Preston is a designated Conservation area. This imposed restrictions on what we could actually do with the sash windows but we had a meeting with the contractor and came to the best solution to renovate the windows.

Due to the property being in a Conservation area the only option was to replace windows that were beyond economic repair with single glazed sashes that would match the originals.

This was a 5 week project with 19 sash windows and working alongside other trades such as builders, electricians and plumbers. The property was being converted into luxury apartments in a much sought after area of Preston, Lancashire.

We carried out the Sash Window restoration which included all timber repair to the boxes, sashes and sills where possible. Then installed our Draught Proofing System. Some of the sills needed to be replaced with new Hardwood Sills and there was an amount of Re-Glazing that needed to be done due to cracks and missing panes of glass. We finished the windows with a putty point finished on time and within budget without compromising the aesthetic appearance of the windows.
