Timber Window Renovation: Longton, Lancashire
This project was a delight !! We had been to see the customer and gave the low down of how renovation can work for some projects and also offered new double glazed sashes. The original windows were of a good condition and the main complaint was to eliminate draughts.
he customer in Longton, Lancashire decided it was particularly attractive to them that we should keep all the original windows as they felt the timber and all mechanics of the windows had lasted a century and they wanted to retain every character they possibly could to last another. The windows were in good condition apart from a few that needed some timber repairs and renovation work done on them. Two of the windows needed a hardwood sill replacement and we installed new draught proofing to all sash windows to eliminate the draughts which is a common complaint for old sash windows.
The customer had this to say, “We are currently renovating our Victorian house and our goal was to retain any character and features to the property as it is the reason we feel in love with our home. So when it came to our sash windows our instinct was to restore and repair the sash windows to keep the original timber and glass that has lasted and paid good service for nearly a century.”
“Sash Windows Northwest were so kind and considerate to our goals they were far better than any competitor as they took the time to listen to us and kept us involved through out the project. The renovation was second to none, it is quite amazing how our windows look like new with new hardware and slide smoothly up and down. The draughts we had such a problem with before have now been eliminated with their draught proofing system. Even some of our neighbours have commented on how beautiful they look. Of course we didn't hesitate to recommend Sash Windows Northwest.”
