Timber Window Repair with Traditional Timber Splice

Timber Window Repair with Traditional Timber Splice

Timber Window Repair, Timber Splice

Timber window repair services have been carried out on windows on a domestic property. We have been working on restoring the windows back to a usable standard.

The timber in the window was rotting away due to years of neglect. The decaying wood meant that the windows were not working as well as physically possible. In order to repair the windows we carried out traditional timber splice work. This included removing the decayed wood and then positioning the timber splice into the gap.

The timber used for the splice is selected based on it’s longevity and it’s tendency to shrink. Wood adhesive, and sometimes resins, are used to secure the splice in place. These are waterproof and long-lasting, meaning your window will continue to look good and function well for many years to come.

By conducting these repairs and restoration techniques on your sash windows you are prolonging their life and minimising the risk of draughts in the property. You’re also saving yourself of the cost of replacing the windows entirely! Looking after your sash windows shouldn’t be a chore and speaking to professionals, such as ourselves, you can really learn to enjoy your sash windows!
